Hearing a Gospel version of “There is a green hill far away” suddenly reminded me of a show I saw at the Eighteen Plus Easter Holiday, many years ago.

The comedian had primed the band and at an appropriate point, they started playing the solemn tune in the backbround whilst he asked us to reflect a moment on this being Easter Sunday and how we should never forget that Jesus gave his life on a cross to save all of mankind.
