Welly washing

Inspired by the Splunds totally unexpected (and fascinating) posting The Den of the Splundfather I present The Sink of the ShadesWife.

Karen cleaning Wellies in the kitchen sink.

(Although she does point out that it is my sink really as I do most of the dishes and clean it as part of my chores. This is the follow-up activity to yesterday’s Christmas Adventure.)

  1. Mrs Smallprint says:

    Why?

I thought the whole point of wellies was that they were muddy (unless you are a townie with a range rover)?

    Happy New Year.

  2. Shades says:

Mrs. Smallprint, getting the Wellies out is a fairly rare occurrence Chez Grey. Gardening ones live in the Garage in their muddy state but it is best to clean them occasionally or we end up trailing powdery mud (or worse) in the house.

We are townies, with a Skoda. As it happens, Karen packed David’s old pair instead of mine so I got muddy Crocs. (A shoe eminently washable though). The old pair fortunately fitted Grandma who got muddiest anyway, walking beside the ski trail.
