The twelve days of Christmas

Filed under: Culture — Shades @ 11:45 am

There is an interesting feature over at the Adam Smith Institute Blog . Each day, they explain the legend of that particular day of Christmas, then linking it in some way to something policy-wise they have a view on (and they have a view on everything!)

Today is the eighth day of Christmas and here is the eight maids a milking gate from the Snowflake Maze, constructed by Adrian Fisher Mazes (site well worth a look).

Eight maids a milking gate- Snowflake Maze,

The previous ASI articles are seven swans a swimming, six geese a laying, five gold rings, four calling birds, three french hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.

  1. I love the unlocking of these kinds of things. Why would anyone want a partridge in a pear tree?

  2. Probably for the same reason you would want a Faberge egg- Ars Gratia Artis
