Beware Hippos
The last few days, Karen has been doing a WASGIJ. (It hasn’t ruined our life yet).
A WASGIJ is a backwards jigsaw with a difference. The picture on the box isn’t the scene, instead it is the complimentary scene that the people on the scene would be seeing. So if the picture on the box is of the bride, the groom and the minister, the jigsaw would be of the congregation.
Our latest one is number twelve and we have done several of them previously. (There are a lot of charity shops in Morley, a good source of books, jigsaws and Videos). Here is a photo of the box- it is a bit blurry and at a funny angle because the lid is full of pieces and I had to snap it from underneath. It is a river scene and there is a hazard sign suggesting that there are hazardous hippopotomi about.
Here is what Karen has done so far. It is getting tough now because she has done the easiest bits, i.e. the border, the river boat, bits of sky and a large red item which I think is a Hippo tongue, but David thinks might be a Baboon’s Bottom. (He used to watch Cow & Chicken).
Co-incidentally, I’ve been re-watching the Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin on DVD, an Xmas Prezzy. In there, whenever Reggie’s mother in law is mentioned, he thinks of a Hippo.
We also heard the Mud Glorious Mud song a fair bit recently, from David’s choice in his third of the car CD player, Junior Choice volumes 1 & 2.
Time will tell what it is, David is helping as well now.

I have a lifelong aversion to jigsaws after being forced to participate with my grandmother who loved them. Many boring Christmas afternoons were spent with this torture. Glad Karen enjoys them.

I have an aversion to slacks with straps under the feet, (as worn by Aunties) whilst we are exploring things that make us shudder.
