Our Grey clan were a Gray clan back in the mists of time, from Perth, I believe. The story goes that my great, great, great grandfather (+/- a couple of generations) moved to Newcastle and was very impressed with &lt;a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/tyne/content/panoramas/360_greystreet.shtml" rel="nofollow"&gt;Grey Street&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey's_Monument" rel="nofollow"&gt;Grey's Monument&lt;/a&gt;.

It was probably the &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earl_Grey_tea" rel="nofollow"&gt;tea&lt;/a&gt; that persuaded him to change his name by deed poll.</description>
