Diabetes Week

Filed under: Shady stuff — Shades @ 5:15 pm

It is now the last day of Diabetes awareness week and I had completely forgotten about it until a copy of Balance arrived this morning. This time last year I did my temporary slaphead stunt but all I have been doing this time round is quietly saving loose change into a small box provided by them for the purpose a few months ago.

I had a shrewd idea how much was in it as I have “banked” coins at regular intervals converting coins to notes. (It also provided a temporary source of funds when Karen was caught out one day needing cash).

Anyway, a cheque for £45.77 is now on the way to them- and I have a large heap of bronze & silver for my Perks Coffee Shop money.

Perhaps I’ll save the two pence coins, for the penny falls in the arcade next time we go to Redcar.

Over two million people in the UK have diabetes. More than half a million people have Type 2 diabetes but don’t know it. Are you one of them?

  1. I can see why you are not anxious to repeat last year’s fund raising effort for this worthy cause. I’d say that was pretty brave of you to do it.
