Bits & Bobs

Filed under: Culture — Shades @ 6:12 pm

Yesterday I had an evening out with someone to talk about securing grant funding. We held it in a working men’s club half way between where we both lived. As I don’t mix drinking and driving, I arranged to walk there & back, although Karen took pity on me as it was drizzling so ran me up to the club.

The beer was £1.55 a Pint of Tetley’s finest (& whilst I was there, someone grumbled that it had gone up) and when I got back I downloaded Firefox 3 which has annoyingly munged all my favourites up. (They are still there but randomly muddled in the folders. Time for a re-sort).

Tonight, we have a programme for the forthcoming School PTA Gala day (which we can’t go to as we are at a family wedding) and it includes six jokes, five of which David knew the answers to. (He says they are all lame…)

Here they are… answers afterwards in invisible ink!

Q: What cheese is made backwards?    A: Edam

Q: What lies at the bottom of the sea and shivers?    A: A nervous Wreck!

Q; What’s hairy and coughs?   A: A Coconut with a cold

Q: What do you get if you cross an elephant and a kangaroo?   A: Big holes all over Australia

Q: What runs but never walks?   A: Water

Q: What do you call a magical secret agent?   A: James Wand

  1. I hadn’t checked my bookmarks yet but darn, two of my BP folders with 10 in each have totally disappeared! Plus I don’t understand the new organize window! I don’t think I’ll update the desktop yet.

  2. LOL @ ‘answers in invisible ink’. Why does that not surprise me that someone of your ilk would write in invisible ink?
Do you leave an invisible black (mafias) hand, prior to your murdering the ‘don’?

  3. JMB, I worked why my folders are munged- I loaded a Firefox 3 beta last year and removed it aagin but it has preserved the bookmarks as they were then and propagated them.

Ubermouth, boxes of Milk Tray are more my style, but they would probably be empty.

  4. Thanks for the lame jokes. Very necessary to keep up to date with a large collection of said jokes. It is sad really because my seven year old knows more jokes than me now. He knows about three.

  5. My jokes aren’t suitable for the pre 9pm watershed.
