Elizabethan Summer Celebration
The leaflets said “Look out for the pink blimp!” but seeing as how there were 60mph gusts on Sunday, it was unsurprising that it was not to be seen over Bradford’s Bolling Hall museum. The hall is an interesting pastiche of styles from the 15th to the 18th Century, as befits a family residence that has evolved over the Centuries. It was given to Bradford in 1915 by the last owner who couldn’t afford to restore it in exchange for a piece of land next door to build a girls school.
It seems that such displays are under threat, according to these guys.

I ought to elaborate that as it is a museum, they have themed various rooms from different eras of the house’s history with matching period furniture, not necessarily from the Hall originally. (The Bed is from Harewood House, for example, and is a Chippendale).
I’d like to go back to the house outside of the hurly burly of an event to read the signage but Karen is less keen as we have been to numerous similar places.
