This photo looks fairly normal…

until I point out that it is actually…

Upside down!

I spent a few days in Gothenburg, Sweden, visiting the lighting Company AVAB AB. Whilst there, I took the opportunity to visit their theme park, Liseburg. This was the upside-down house attraction…

  1. Er I don’t get this. Why doesn’t the cushion fall off? I guess I’ll have to go check it out. Why are you making your posts so you have to click them to expand them? I’m lodging an objection here.

  2. JMB, it doesn’t fall off because it is fixed to the chair which is screwed to the ceiling. It is all designed to look gravity defying.

The entire house was upside down inside, or at least the rooms you could go in.

You’ll have a job checking it out, as the attraction closed in 1996, according to Wikipedia.

I used the –MORE– unwrap attribute for an element of suspense, i.e. you ponder why the picture might be unusual before clicking to reveal why. I wouldn’t use it normally, although it is a way to constrain the RSS feed. The irony is that if you visit the post directly, it is already unwrapped.

I personally don’t like blogs that do this as a matter of course for all postings, unless they are high volume headline type entry ones.

  3. Well all right then. I knew that they had nailed the things to the ceiling but the cushion was a bit odd. And the food too. The outside of the house is hilarious.
So I can cross it off my list then?

  4. Afraid so, long gone. You should do Blackpool Noah’s Ark though, unless you’ve been to Kennywood.
