Another new wet shaver hits the streets. This time it is the AZOR, from King of Shaves. It was mentioned in the paper yesterday and you went off to a specific URL to win one of 4000 free samples. However, when I looked, there was just some strange stuff about filling in surveys and putting bags out on the front doorstep. (They have sorted it now).
They describe it as iPod meets Razor and I’m a sucker for new designs as I do suffer from razor rash. (I use an electric one with slimy squeeze outgel with the occasional wet shave to deal with the stubble the Philips misses)
Apart from the styling (& I’m a great believer in substance over style) the other selling hook is that the cartridges are much cheaper than the other top range blades which are now silly money.
I’ve been a fan of the King of Shaves oils and gels since finding it in the 90s.
(One for the ladies here!)

Love the new site Shades — big improvement well done.
I too have problems with shaving and suffer from rashes — not found a solution yet though.

IPod meets razor. What a notion. I do hope you win one and can give a Consumer’s report.

Sounds a little like the toothbrushes (£6.99) that play 2 minutes of High School musical, a triumph of promotional merchandise over clean teeth!

Thrrobb, thanks for your thanks. It is only the original default template- but it kinda fits!
JMB, I’ll probably buy one if I see it, but not in ASDA yet.
N, the musical toothbrushes sound really pointless- but they’re not, the longer you brush, the more effective it is. Brushing for two minutes without a timer is tedious. My toothbrush shuts down after two minutes but it feels like five.

About bloody time. Gillette recently withdrew its original Sensor blades after about 15 years on the market forcing me to buy the more expensive Sensor Excel, and those 7 blade cartridges are just ridiculous. I changed to Asda and Boots own brand in protest. They’re admittedly not so good but I can’t sniff at 10 cartridges for £2.
A good article in the FT recently:
