My trip to York was certainly memorable- an hour travelling on trains/Taxis/Mum’s Taxi, five hours in meetings and six hours in a Pub!
The first AGM was small and far from perfectly formed, but a fascinating example how how ordinary people came to be politicised by ordinary callous intrusion of the state. My own tipping point was IR35, the turnover tax. Others cited planning rules, recognition of corruption in politics or even an increasing awareness that events they had personally witnessed were not being reported accurately by the Press.
More later.

My tipping point came a couple of years ago having never previously had any involvement in politics. It was the women at BA who was told she couldn’t wear a cross, IIRC, but there were so many other things. I’m actually sympathetic to LPUK and I have been following your progress.

No doubt the six hours at the pub were just as productive as the five hours of meetings and much more enjoyable.

Hey, Techno, I see you started blogging again. You are back on the blogroll.
JMB, different strokes. The meeting involved everyone of course but the Pub was much more informal.
