It has been a bit snowy in much of England. It wasn’t too bad getting to work but by 10am it was snow showering and making some roads difficult. The centre of Bradford was pretty much gridlocked for a few hours with lorries struggling to get up hilly roads & traffic overwhelming junctions. Eventually the Police stepped in and started directing traffic, but in the scene below, there wasn’t anywhere to direct them to for an hour or so until they de-clogged the routes out.
I held on until 3pm and was home in an hour, a journey that is normally 40 minutes or so. The route was reasonably clear for the first 2 miles, due to the Police throttling the traffic. We heard of people who left much earlier taking 2-3 hours just to get to the motorway.

A non-wintry view of this scene can be seen here.

And this cold UK winter comes in the year the world is heading for the hottest or second hottest on record, according to the Met Office and Nasa.
Nice to see police directing traffic in Bradford, here in Leeds my normal 2 1/2 hour school run – took 5 hours, due to traffic caos.
Ah yes, the Met Office.
